History

Made in the 1930s by Mrs Edith Elizabeth Hocking (born Rowe 1885-1969) in Swan Reach South Australia. Owned by Ida Blenkiron (born Hocking). Ida remembers several pieces of material coming from dresses she wore at Silver Vale school picnic (around 1937). The pink and white stripe pieces came from a dress Ida made completely by hand when she was in Grade 5. It won 2nd prize at the Swan Reach Agricultural Show in 1934.
