History
The Hutchinson Quilt. Patchwork of hand sewn fabrics. Square blocks with circles in the centre, made up of ten pieces. The original was 54 square blocks. Said to have been made by Mrs. Augusta Emily Hutchinson (nee Kingdon) during the voyage from England after her marriage to Young Bingham Hutchinson at Heavitree Devon 15.6.1852.
Also includes 6 squares that were damaged and removed from the quilt during conservation and restoration by the Quilters Guild.
Restored and mounted in glass case by Yilki Picture Framers with advice from Artlab Australia.
