History

I continue working with scraps and remnants and recycled materials reusing rather than abusing our resources. The stitches and thread reflect the intrusion of humans into the rain forest.

‘THE CANOPY’.
I am amazed at the lushness of the canopy and the vines. The variety of the colour green and the textures awe me. The senses are overwhelmed and I want to touch everything.

‘THE UNDERSTOREY’.
Little light reaches below the canopy but the death of a tree brings sunlight into the forest.

‘THE FOREST FLOOR’.
The forest floor is relatively clear of vegetation because of the low sunlight. The puddles of water collect after rain. Mulch quickly decays.
