History
This quilt was made by Lily Smith of Mudgee New South Wales in the 1930s or early 1940s. It was always used as an under blanket between the mattress and the bottom sheet. Lily Smith donated it to The Pioneer Women's Hut. It is displayed occasionally in the museum.Description
Machine pieced top and back made from large irregular pieces of calico and sheeting including part of a 70lb Colonial Sugar Refinery calico sugar bag. The padding appears to be old cream blanket, whole or pieced.1720 x 1030 mm
