History

The work was made to reillustrate 'Reduce ocean outfalls' from the 'Fresh & Salt: messages in stitched textiles' exhibition questionnaire research 2007 to 2009.
The subjects illustrated in outfalls include discharge into the sea discolours the clear saltwater making the sea a toxic mix for swimmers. The text is used to discolour the cloth and emphasise the contours of water and to deliver messages in the imagetext.

Materials: Thai silk, pentel pen, polyester wadding and cotton quilting thread
Techniques: appliqué, hand writing and hand quilted from rear and top edge
