"Quilts are my passion"

Annette has sewn since childhood, taking pleasure in the use of needle and thread and the
handling of fabrics. For over twenty years, Annette has been making and exhibiting her quilts,
attracting awards in international and local UK exhibitions. She has also been invited to judge
major national UK quilt awards as well as shows in the USA.

Annette has also taught the art of quilt making over the last twenty three years, inspiring
many students to develop their confidence in original design work and an open attitude towards
the craft. She has written ten books about the subject and regularly contributes articles to
quilting publications.

She is inspired by architecture and art and is not afraid to indulge her passion for colour.
Whilst admiring the traditional craft of quilt making, her particular interest is in
contemporary quilts, especially those that push the boundaries of what quilt making can be. Her
deceptively simple designs are meticulously prepared and made by hand and sewing machine.
