History
Made by the owner's grandmother, her father's mother, for her glory chest, before 1949. Made in Amfisafokidos, Greece. Owned by Effie Katianos, who brought the quilt to Australia in 1956.
Description
Wholecloth quilt of golden brown cotton sateen, the backing of a lighter yellow cotton sateen. Hand quilted with an all over repeating pattern of a cross within a square. The border is quilted with four parallel rows of stitching at the sides and five at the top and bottom. Padding is cotton wadding.
