This quilt was discovered in the Yorkshire Dales, England about 30 years ago. It is now in the collection of Annette Gero. A label on the top border reads: "Scripture Quilt. Copyright all rights reserved. Francis Whitehead Crayford Kent. Executor and Sole manager for the Invalid Widow Designed by the late R Memprifs. Set of patches from 3/- upwards. Made up quilts from 8/6. Always Ready"
Description
This quilt consists of many blocks of different colours with etchings and verse[s] from the Bible machine appliquéd on to a red backing material. It is a kit quilt.
