History

Quilt top was started around 1900 in Colorado USA, by Ann Blomfield. It was given n the 1970s to Gillian Erratt, of Walcha NSW, a member of the family, by Ann's daughter-in-law Pat Blomfield. The quilt was started at the turn of the century and brought to Australia from Colorado USA by Ann Blomfield when she moved to the property 'Cheyenne', Walcha NSW. Many years later, in the 1970s, when her daughter-in-law Pat was leaving, her son gave it to the cleaning woman. The pieces were given to a member of the family, Gillian Erratt, who finished the quilt top.

Description

Patchwork quilt made of pieced blocks in the 'Shoofly' pattern, in white cotton and a red, white and blue geometric cotton print. Alternate squares are in the print. The border is made of same size squares in the print. No padding. The backing is a sheet. Hand sewn.
